Yuanqing Yang, Chairman of the Lenovo Group Ltd., visited the booth of ‘Platinum Partner’ Utimaco Safeware AG at CeBIT. The CEO of Utimaco, Martin Wülfert, explains a secure authentication on a Lenovo ThinkPad. The combination of the Lenovo fingerprint-reader with Utimaco’s hard disk encryption turns the ThinkPad into ‘one of the safest notebooks’ worldwide.

The global partnership of Lenovo and Utimaco ensures a unique solution for access protection and fail-safe security for all Lenovo ThinkCentres™ and Lenovo ThinkPads®.
Together the partners provide a unique security solution world-wide that can be used to encrypt data, to restore lost data by means of encrypted backup and to protect particularly sensitive information using a special hardware security chip.
The security key components to strengthen the Lenovo ThinkVantage architecture are:
- Automated full disk encryption with SafeGuard Enterprise from Utimaco
- Folder encryption with the electronic data safe SafeGuard PrivateDisk from Utimaco
- Automated full disk back-up and system restoration software with Lenovo Rescue and Recovery™
- Lenovo’s Client Security Solution consists of an integrated security chip and downloadable Lenovo Client Security Software.
This combined solution allows you to combine access protection for confidential data and fail-safe security in a convenient and uncomplicated way.
